Woman in the Sand

$120.00 CAD

Using only three simple shapes, Woman in the Sand creates a surprising fullness, both in subject and story. The implication of summer, sun, travel, and relaxation permeates the piece without overwhelming it in detail. The woman could be anyone, anywhere, and the simplicity of her representation allows for and celebrates those endless possibilities.

How to interpret

  • The simplicity of shape is exercised to create a suprisingly complete subject and story
  • The floppy beach hat and casual posture imply relaxation, luxury, and the lull of the beach
  • The subdued representation of the subject matter makes it easily relatable, allowing the viewer to project their own ideas surrounding place and identity onto the piece

This fine art print has a limited edition count of 25 per size and material.

CREATED BY Aleeza Yermus

My interest in art, photography and visual learning began at a young age, where I attended classes at the Academy of Artisans at the age of 6. Since then, I've taken painting, drawing and design classes throughout my schooling where I've been lucky to learn from the talented and inspiring people around me.

My favourite mediums are acrylic painting, sketching, digital prints and photography, where I enjoy capturing moments, emotions, conveying truths, hidden messages and underlying meaning through the visual.

I've found if you look closely enough, traces of art can be found in the most seemingly ordinary devices. Almost anything can be considered art, which is why I find abstract art especially liberating and compelling.

My favourite style is abstract realism, which strikes a beautiful balance between creativity and reality. I use Pinterest as my main source of inspiration across different mediums, which I find especially helpful when commissioning pieces for others.

My artistic journey has been an inspiring one thus far and I can't wait to see what's in store for the future.
